2023 State Cross Country Championships

Congratulations and best wishes to all the athletes who will proudly represent Cranbourne at this weekend’s State Cross Country Championships. This year’s group includes many brothers, sisters, cousins, and friends but as we don the colours of White, Blue, and Gold on the state stage, let’s remember that we are a united centre, a cohesive family. Let’s rally behind each other this weekend and uphold the spirited Cranbourne way!

Event Venue:

Lake Dewar Lodge
339 Garrands Road, Myrniong

(Kindly note that the venue is approximately a 1.5-2 hour drive from Cranbourne.)

For the exact location where our setup will be stationed, we’ll share details on social media. Be assured that two marquees will be in place.

Parental Duties:

As previously communicated, and in adherence to LAVic’s Conditions of Entry, there are certain parent duties that need to be fulfilled on the event day. Fortunately, this year, all our duties are situated on the course, ensuring you can still witness all the thrilling moments. Failing to fulfil your assigned duties will result in repercussions for the upcoming Track & Field Season, such as loss of Parent Points or additional duties during the Region Track & Field or Championship Day.

Athlete Check-In:

As outlined in the LAVic email, athletes MUST check in a minimum of 35 minutes before their event and obtain a new CommBank tag before participating. This ensures that all athletes have the correct barcode and information. Please aim to arrive at least 45 minutes prior to your athlete’s event, as we cannot perform check-ins on your behalf.
If you haven’t checked in and reported to the Cranbourne Marquee at least 30 minutes before your event, you will be scratched on the day.

Uniform Requirements:

Please ensure that all athletes are in complete Cranbourne uniform. This includes:

•Cranbourne Competition Shirt (Black or white undershirt allowed)
•Royal Blue Shorts/Leggings
•Coles patch to be SEWN on above the LAVic logo on the athlete’s shirt.
•Plain Black Leggings or Black Bike Shorts are allowed for Cross Country Events
• TRACKSUIT PANTS and HOODIES/JACKETS CANNOT BE WORN
All undergarments are to be free of visible patterns and logos.

Medals/Ribbons:
Medals will be presented to the first three individual placegetters in all events, including Multi-Class with ribbons to be awarded to fourth to eighth placegetters.

Medals will be presented to the top 3 Centre Teams (3 athletes only per team) for the State Cross Country Championship Team Events.

Further Information

Considering the limited food and drink available on-site, we recommend bringing your own refreshments.

Kindly remember that all the officials on the event day are VOLUNTEERS, who are volunteering to ensure the event runs smoothly – without these heroes, these events simply don’t run.
