Coaches Shield

Recognising attitude, effort and sportsmanship

The Coaches Shield recognises athletes who consistently demonstrate the qualities that our coaches value both at training and during competition.

This award is not simply about being the fastest athlete, jumping the furthest or winning the most events.

Instead, it recognises athletes who show a positive attitude, listen and learn, respect their coaches and fellow athletes, give their best effort and contribute positively to the Cranbourne Little Athletics community.

Selection may consider qualities including:

• Commitment to training
• Positive attitude and behaviour
• Willingness to listen and learn
• Effort and determination
• Respect for coaches, officials and fellow athletes
• Good sportsmanship
• Encouragement of others
• Consistent participation throughout the season

Our Honour Roll

The Honour Rolls below recognise Cranbourne athletes who have received the Coaches Shield throughout the Centre’s history.

Up to 2009/10

During the earlier years of the award, one athlete was selected each season to receive the Coaches Shield.

From 2010/11

From the 2010/11 season, the award expanded to recognise one boy and one girl each year.

Each recipient has been recognised by our coaches for the way they trained, competed and represented Cranbourne Little Athletics throughout their season.
